2012 is here....oh the things we will do....Civil Unions come to Hawaii

A new year, a new chance for equality in our country. While there is still a big battle ahead to bring FULL MARRIAGE EQUALITY to all citizens in the United States, 2012 brought a new Civil Unions law to Hawaii, allowing Same Sex couples to enter into a union that will give them the ability to gain legal rights generally reserved to Hetero couples. It's not perfect, but it's a start. I can't wait for the day when a WEDDING IS A WEDDING!!! In the meantime, please visit www.equalityhawaii.org for more information about the laws in Hawaii and to support the cause. And if you want to come to Hawaii to have YOUR ceremony or Wedding, please contact me, I can help!!!

PEACHES AND THE PINEAPPLE, WAIKIKI
Two beautiful ladies, a gorgeous day, and wonderful friends helped create a spur of the moment lovely ceremony on Waikiki Beach (shhhhh don't tell anyone, it's TECHNICALLY not allowed!)

Every wedding should have hunky bridesmaids like these!!! (well, maybe not EVERY wedding....)

For some reason, LOVE was in the air, and it was INFECTIOUS!!! I didn't even notice the background action in the second photo until after I started editing!
SPECIAL THANKS TO: HULA'S BAR AND LEI STAND http://www.hulas.com for the reception location and support of the happy couple; STEVE BARNES, Officiant and ringleader; MICHAEL MIYASHIRO, flowers, leis and arrangements, www.rainforesthawaii.com.

the men of Hawaii Rugby....

I had always wondered what it would be like to shoot a calendar, and to photograph male bodies....now I can check both these things off of my career bucket list....I enlisted my friends to assist me with posing, lighting and general ball handling...

The calendar will be available very soon....stay tuned! xoxo Kelli with an eye

weddings, rainbows, parades and food....

Lucky I live Hawaii....can't say it enough...June has kept me busy and I'm so grateful for the many wonderful events I was a part of....

First, a chance to capture some magic moments at a wedding, including a rainbow that hung around long enough for me to get some really fun shots...

My first King Kamehameha Day Parade: the flowers, the horses, the ladies and GENTS oh my!!

And then a fun Sunday, hanging out with friends at Morimoto's in Waikiki for a Sunday Brunch Social....the food might look small, but it packs a truly delicious punch, especially when accompanied by mimosas,  bloody marys and house music!
